Lisa Krasner reigned supreme in the race for Assembly District 26, according to unofficial results from the Washoe County Registrar’s office.

With all precincts reporting, Krasner bested Jason Guinasso in the race for outgoing Assemblyman Randy Kirner’s Republican held seat. Guinasso, an attorney who backed Gov. Brian Sandoval’s education funding plan, lost by 664 votes to the anti-tax Krasner, a Truckee Meadows Community College instructor.

Once certified by the secretary of state’s office, Krasner will take the seat since only the two Republicans filed for the primary.

Krasner did not respond to requests for comment.

Guinasso said he wished Krasner well in the Assembly.

“I ran the best race I could,” Guinasso said. “Voters ultimately got to decide. They chose Lisa. I’ll be praying that Lisa does well as our representative of AD 26.”

He said he would not rule out possibly running again.

“If at some point an opportunity presents itself to run again, I probably will,” Guinasso said.

The governor, who endorsed Guinasso, did not respond to requests for comment on the race.
